An eventful knockout finals weekend saw six competitions taking place on Saturday. I'm pleased to announce some of the results:
- The Scratch K/O was won by Ben Browning over Charlie Scorse. In the Married Couples final Gordon and Kath Kelly pipped Neville and Barbara Brown in extra holes.
Andy Parry played exceptionally well and reached two finals which he had to play over a single day. Unfortunately, he was pipped to the post in both competitions, but what we applaud him for playing two knockout matches in 12 hours.
In the evening the annual presentation of trophies took place in which all the prize winners through the year finally got their hands on the silverware they had won!
Finally, next week we have Mizuno holding a custom fitting day here at the golf club on Wednesday, 28 September from midday onwards, spaces are filling up fast so book now, especially if you would like to test drive the new JPX900 models.
Just launched, this is your opportunity to try them out with the help of my Area Rep, Simon Smart. Together with Simon, I will be also on hand with advice and to answer any questions you my have.
As we approach the Ryder Cup, we want to hear your opinion on team based golf events. Would you like to see more events on the PGA and European Tour which are played within a team or even franchise type format?
We think that this could be interesting to see on a more regular basis as it always seems like the Ryder Cup throws up some incredible drama every time it comes around.
In addition to the professional game, would you like to take part in some more exciting and creative team based golfing formats, or are you happy with the mix of events that we currently have within our golfing calendar? We would love to hear your thoughts.
Please get in touch here.
