Well we have certainly seen a change in the weather this week with wind moving around to the East bringing in some very cold snaps, with the clear nights this has lead to a couple of mornings of heavy frost. But on a good note, we are almost through January now, so Spring is a little bit closer and the course has not suffered like it did last winter. But keep warm and get those layers on in this cold snap.

Foremost spring workshop

Next week I am off to Exeter Golf & Country Club for the day to attend a Foremost Spring Workshop, these are always fantastic days, with plenty of new ideas thrown around the room by my fellow professionals.

My thanks go to all the guys at Foremost for laying on such days and I'm looking forward to meeting up with Peter Durham and David Murch from Foremost. Then on Wednesday I venture up to St Enodoc for our first CCPGA Alliance of 2017, looking forward to playing what is without doubt the toughest course in Cornwall, please let the weather be okay.

 

New Equipment

New equipment is still arriving daily and we have just received our first Titleist ball drop for the year, and this includes the brand new Pro V1 & Pro V1x.

The remaining range of golf balls from Titleist are on their 2nd year rotation, so NXT, NXT Tour S, Velocity and DT Solo remain the same ball for 2017. So if you like playing with any of those golf balls you've got not changes to worry about. But if you play Pro V1 or V1x, here is an article on the new model of ball for 2017/18.

Sun Mountain H2N0 Cart & Stand Bags

Since these bags arrived in the shop we have had a lot of interest in them, a fully waterproof golf bag with taped zips, so no water getting into them pockets either.

Golf Lessons

The Winter Offer for January and February is still ongoing, with quite a few members taking up this deal. So if you want a top up on your game then pop on into the Pro Shop and book your 2 x 30 minute golf lessons for £29.50.

 

Upcoming events

Rik, our host quiz master is running another one of his successful quiz nights on Friday 17 February, food will be available up to 7.15pm with Doug in the kitchen no doubt turning out some stunning meals as ever and the first question will be at 7.30pm.

So if you are interested in putting a team together please put your names down on the list in the main entrance hall.
