Modernising Golf's Rules
Last week the R&A proposed some key changes to the Rules of Golf from 2019. Their Rules Modernisation initiative has been underway for a few years now and this is the next stage in that process. The aim is to not only make the Rules easier to understand, but also to address some of the game's current problems, such as speed of play, and ensure they fit the needs of today's game.
Please spare a couple of minutes to complete our survey, which gives you the chance to have your say on the proposed changes.
We've picked out some of the most significant Rules changes for you to digest in this survey, before giving you the chance to say whether you agree or disagree with each of them. It'll be great to know your thoughts.

New FootJoy Shoe range
FootJoy have delivered the new shoe range for this year and the Gents and Ladies styles look amazing, so pop on in and we can offer fitting advice using the Brannock Device which FootJoy have supplied to help you purchase the correct size, as most golfers actually wear the wrong size shoes.
Winter Leagues
Over the past week both the Seniors and Gents Winter Leagues have come to a conclusion. The Seniors WL was won by Ken Arch and with the Gents WL was not decided until after the final round with three players still in with a chance to take the top spot. Eventually Simon Hirst managed to pip both Brian Caig and Paul Collins to the title. Well done to all in both events.

Course Maintenance Week
Simon and his staff have been battling the weather this week, since they started on Monday the weather has been appalling. Up to Wednesday morning we've had nearly an one and half inches of rain, with the course shut since then.
Simon has been hollow coring the 14 older style greens and solid tyning the 4 newer greens, after using the machine to pick up the cores a major part of this machine broke and at this moment in time it is being repaired, so this has delayed things a little. But it is almost impossible to dress the greens with sand has its too wet to spread and driving a one & half tonne machine across the green is not even worth contemplating, so this may roll course maintenance into next week depending on the weather.
Hopefully the weather will improve for the weekend, but remember the first major of the year, The Masters is just around a month away and once again I will be offering the Masters Sweepstake, so keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of weeks for details.
