It's Star Wars Day
As I am putting this week's newsletter together, may I wish you a Happy Star Wars Day - ( May 4th be with you ), sorry about that, but all Star Wars fans will get the pun!
Now that May is with us, the longer daylight hours give us all the opportunity to play some golf after work and with most of the qualifying competitions at the club now having taken place and the first round draws done, please may I remind you all that if you are planning on playing the odd match after work it is still advisable to book a tee time. The tee times can be booked up till 6pm and can be done online via the golf club website or by ringing or popping into the pro shop.
Cornwall County Ladies Golf Association
On Thursday we welcomed the Cornwall County Ladies Golf Association to Falmouth for the Division 2 Spring Meeting. At the time of putting this newsletter together we have nearly 50 ladies from around the county doing battle around the course to see who will come out on top, good luck to all, but particularly the ladies from Falmouth who are taking part.
Bit of Fun
Club member, Paul Caunter had a bit of a strange drive off the 1st the other evening, when I was just leaving work and walking to my car a golf ball struck a tree behind me and ran past me to this finishing position behind the old 18th green.
I have to say I haven't seen too many players hit their second shot from that position in the past.
Paul must have a bit a deja vu though as the same thing happened again this Wednesday evening.
Will Paul be attempting the hat-trick over the next few days or perhaps he should take his 'tree wood' off the tee for safety, no doubt a further report will follow, sorry Paul !
Happy Customers
It's been a busy week with a couple of customers popping in to pick up their new golf clubs, first of all my best mate and golfing partner in the Perranporth Winter Foursomes, Colin Kitt from China Fleet. Colin ordered the Callaway Apex Pro 16 irons from 4 to PW, and now looks forward to getting out on his home track and using them to reduce his handicap down from his current category 1 status of 2.5.
Secondly was our local lady member, Jenny Storey who had a custom fit session with the Mizuno DNA system, this week Jenny picked up her new Fairway Woods, the JPX900 series and the JPX900 Hot Metal irons. She will hopefully putting them to good use on Thursday at the CCPGA Mixed Alliance at Carlyon Bay where she will be partnering me in the last Alliance of our 16/17 season.

Coaching sessions and WeDeliverMore Campaign
At this moment in time we still have some places available on Monday for the Ladies and Gents putting sessions and also for the Gents Short Game lessons on Monday afternoon. Also for the Get into Golf class on Monday evening from 6pm to 7pm, so if you have anyone who would be interested in this session over a period of the next 4 weeks for
£25.00, it's a great way to get into the game of golf.
Sadly though the sessions that I have put aside during Friday, I am going to have to postpone due to having to attend a family funeral, Debbie's father sadly passed away peacefully last Sunday night after a long ilIness. Thanks go to the membership who have passed their condolences onto us. I will post some replacement dates and times in the near future on another newsletter.
My apologies for this.
