Captain's Drive In

Last Saturday we held our Captain's Drive In, the members had a 3 person Texas Scramble beforehand, with each player having to get in 6 drives each. The winning team won on a better back 9 and that was Glynn Churcher, Clive Ahrens and Paul Evans with a score of 60.4.

The sweepstake Nearest the Pin winner was Dave Walsh with a distance of 2 feet & 9 inches on the 2nd hole and Dave won golf balls to the value of £48.00.

Also during the day we asked each player to donate £1.00 to guess how far William's longest drive would be during the Drive In and this would help to raise funds for his chosen charity this year, the Epilepsy Action. His longest recorded drive was 186 yards and this distance was guessed correctly by Eric Brotherton and Roger Scorse and raised a total of £70.00.

Well the weather is starting to turn now that we are into October and all of the new Winter Ranges of clothing and waterproofs have now arrived and are fully on display around the shop. We have Waterproofs from Sunderland and winter clothing ranges from Glenmuir, Ping, Mizuno and Titleist. 

We now have in a full stock of Rain Gloves, Winter Gloves, Winter Mits, Beanie Hats and Bobble Hats. So hopefully that just about covers every scenario of winter weather we are likely to get in Cornwall over the next few months, remember to keep warm and dry while playing golf, it makes it so much more enjoyable.

To follow on from that, we've also taken delivery of a set of Mizuno MP-18 SC ( Players cavity ) irons from 4 to Pitching Wedge fitted with the KBS Tour regular shaft and Golf Pride Black and White Multi Compound grips.

But don't worry if these don't suit you as we can also fit you for a blended set which can be made up from the MP-18 Muscleback Blade, the MMC - ( multi material construction ) or the MMC FliHi - ( the players long iron ) within our full DNA Fitting Cart.

I.T troubles!

Sadly this week my computer was slightly poorly and the mouse didn't work, so I went for an upgrade and decided to use a cat instead.

Football v Rugby Golf Match

On Saturday 30th saw the annual playing of the grudge match between the local hard as nails Rugby players and the local toe tappers, as was described by one of the members.

Well this year the Rugby boys came out on top by 6 1/2 to 5 1/2, they must have been more use to the conditions because it was awful with heavy rain and high winds out there.
