Still a bit of life left in my golf game Last Thursday was the second Cornwall PGA Alliance of the 17/18 season, which was held at a sunny Mullion. Playing in a team event with Ross Taylor, Steve Thomas and Scott Whitfield ( Truro ) the format was 2 Stableford scores out of 4 and Pro's playing an Individual Stableford. After starting on the 10th hole, I managed my usual shaky start dropping 2 shots after the first three holes, but managed to get things back to level par after 9 with birdies at 13 & 16. A steady start to the front nine was boosted by a eagle on 4 and birdie on 6 to move 3 under par, but sadly a dropped shot on 8 brought me back to 2 under where I finished. This gave me a 2 shot win over Paul Turpin from Carlyon Bay and the team managed to sneak 3rd place on the back 9 holes as well. Our next Alliance is at Tehidy next Thursday where I return to my roots hoping for another win, fingers crossed. Also on some minor Tour Pro's news, Tiger's back hitting full shots and has been given the all clear to resume his golfing activities. So hopefully in the next few weeks he will return to the tour and fingers crossed that we will see him back to winning ways before too long. Golf needs Tiger back! |
