Hello Golfers, Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly newsletter. In this week's email we launch a new era for our weekly communications, we take a closer look at your options in-store, and we pose an interesting question regarding the season's first major. Enjoy the read. |
New arrivals Well, we still have plenty of new equipment arriving daily, and we'd like to give you a taster of what has arrived this week. First of all, we have received our first consignment of Mizuno Golf Shoes. Our delivery consisted of the new Nexlite Boa in Gents and Ladies styles. These shoes are incredible light and now come with the new Boa system, so no more shoe laces - perfect if you struggle to bend down to do up laces. We pretty much have a full size run from 8 to 11 in the Gents version and 5 to 7 in the Ladies. Don’t hang about, pop on in and grab yourself an amazing pair of lightweight shoes for the start of the golfing season. |

Cobra Trial Sets We now have a couple of full trial sets for you to try out on the course. These consist of a Driver, 2 x Fairways, Hybrid and Irons. We have the Cobra F8 woods and irons for the Gents and the Cobra F- Max for the Ladies. If you are interested in taking these out on the course for a real good old demo, then please contact us in the shop so we can put them aside for you. |
Special offers We also have a couple of special offers at the moment. The first is a Golf Bag Trade In Offer of £20.00 against the following bags; all Motocaddy Dry, Pro & Club Series Cart Bags and Mizuno Elite Cart Bags. This gives you the opportunity to trade in and trade up for a brand new golf bag for the golfing season, but please be quick. Secondly, we have the Titleist Pro V1 or V1x offer, purchase 3 dozen golf balls with FREE PERSONALISATION and receive a 4th dozen FREE OF CHARGE. This stunning offer saves you an amazing £45.00, thus netting down a dozen Pro V's to just over £30.00 per dozen. You will notice dotted around the Clubhouse and in the Locker Rooms, the forms that you will need to fill in and then return them to us in the shop. |
New Rules of Golf - ( as of 1st January 2019 ) As many of you would have heard over the past few days, the R & A and USGA have announced the amendments and changes to various rules from the 1st January 2019. If you would like to cast your eye over these, then please click on the link here and have a read at your leisure, but remember they do not kick in for another 9 months. |
Tiger Woods Like me, I'm sure most of you were glued to your TV screens last weekend, watching the Valspar Championships. Tiger is back in action and in with a chance of winning a Tour Event for the first time in many years. To see him just a shot off the leaders, near the top of the leaderboard and wearing his customary Red Shirt on a Sunday, brought back those years of domination that he had in the game. He introduced so many new people to the game of golf, hopefully this will lead to another influx into our wonderful sport. |
Weather Report Well this weather is up and down like a set of swings! We had a couple of average days, then an amazing one on Tuesday and then Wednesday was back to that good old wind and rain. Richard and his team managed to get the course fully open on Tuesday with all 18 main greens in play, then we arrived on the following morning to find that overnight rain had pushed us back onto quite a number of temporary greens. Then to top it off, the start of next week looks like the 'Beast from the East ' part 2 with temperatures on Sunday through to Wednesday only just getting a few degrees above zero. On the rainfall front, as I said in a newsletter a couple of weeks ago, February rainfall was half as much as we had during January. Well, with March it's gone back the other way with nearly as much rainfall in the first two weeks as we had in the whole of February. The 9th of March recorded almost 1 inch of rain in 24 hours. With the Easter weekend only a couple of weeks away, I think we all need to head to church on Sunday. |

Here is the result from the top 3 teams – 1st – William McLean,Chris Richards, Donna Craig & Hugo Arbones with a nett = 50.25 2nd - Tony Schorah, Philip Vann, Peter Wilkening & James Dempsey with a nett = 51.10 3rd - Rik Shaw, Andy Hawkins, Larry Lynch & Zak Cook with a nett = 53.65 |

Our new era has begun Last week you received an email from us asking for your help. It wasn’t anything too onerous or time-consuming; simply sparing 20 seconds of your time to complete your golfing profile. |
The reason we’re asking you to do this is so that we can start sending you personalised content that is more relevant to your golfing needs. For example, if you’re a lady golfer with a handicap of 28 then the weekly emails you receive will include ladies product that will be suited to your playing ability. Likewise, if you’re a gentleman off 12, we will begin sending you content that will help you to get your handicap down to the holy grail of single-figure digits. Thank you to everyone who has already completed their profile and for those of you who haven’t been able to as of yet, please try and do so in the near future. |
