Motocaddy offer We have reached the end of the current Motocaddy offer, which was to purchase an S5 Connect and receive a free of charge cart bag worth at least £160.00. This offer has been taken up by a number of members within the club and our last trolley is awaiting collection here in the shop. Thanks to everyone who took up this offer, and now have an electric golf trolley with a built in GPS system. |
But as one offer finishes, we have another from Motocaddy, if you do not own an electric trolley and were thinking about purchasing one, then why not come along for a free test drive?
We have two models here for you to try out; the standard S1 and the S1 DHC – (Downhill Control Version). So if you would like to take one out then please book your 18 hole trial in the Pro Shop with a member of staff.

Pro's day 2018
Last Saturday I held my Pro’s Day for the club members to celebrate 14 years at the golf club, with 122 players booked into play an 18 hole stableford off full handicap. We had individual prize sections for Gents, Ladies and Juniors, the first group teed off at 7.30am and the last group went off at 2.00pm, so a long day ahead. Each player received a bottle of water and a chocolate bar to keep them nourished on the way around in what was the best weather of the weekend.
The first section to post all the scores was the Ladies and the 1st Prize was claimed by Carmel Connors with 40 points from Sally Ingle on 38 who pipped Barbara Brown on a better back 9 score. The winner of the Ladies nearest the pin competition on the 2nd was Barbara Roker with 6 feet 8 inches, she claimed a bottle of Prosecco for her tee shot.

My thanks go to everyone who took part in the day and supported both myself and Debbie in the shop over the past year, also to both of my staff in the shop Rob and Scott for all their hard work. It is an honour to be the Club Pro at Falmouth with such an amazing membership that we have, let the next 12 months continue with some fun times, great friendships and hopefully some stunning golf.

The proposed changes to the Rules of Golf are less than six months away, so we thought we’d take a look at one introduction that you may not have been aware of... |
Under the current Rules of Golf, if you strike the ball more than once in the course of a stroke (i.e. a double hit), you take a one-stroke penalty in addition to the stroke that was made. However, under the proposed changes, if you accidentally hit the ball more than once in the course of a stroke, there is no penalty (new Rule 10.1a). This is because the R&A thought it was unfair and unnecessary to penalise a player for an accidental strike. All in all, a sensible amendment to the current Rules of Golf in our opinion. Let us know your thoughts. |
