Masters Sweepstake Thanks go to everyone who purchased a ticket for our Masters Sweepstake, what an amazing tournament it was with so many golfers having the chance to claim the Green Jacket with 18 holes still to play. I think most of us were hoping for another European winner with Francesco Molinari, but his hopes sank, like his golf ball on the 12th & 15th Holes. This left a resurgent Tiger Woods with the chance to claim his 15th Major and birdies on 15 & 16 meant a two shot gap playing 18, enabling him the chance to take 5 and claim a fifth Green Jacket. Daffodil Rule
Daffodil Rule will currently remain in effect until possibly the middle of May, the shoots need to die off to about 50% of their normal height to enable the nutrients to go back into the bulb for next year. We will advise you in the future when this rule will be terminated. |
|
Golf Club Rules
Winter Rules will cease as of Saturday 27th April, so it’s back to playing the golf ball as it lies for the next few months. Please keep an eye on all of your golfing friends and let them know NOT TOO LIFT, CLEAN & PLACE if you see them about to do it.

Out of the fire and into the Pan... C.T Pan secured a popular victory at the RBC Heritage over the weekend, propelling himself from outside the world’s top 100 into the top 55 in a matter of four days. It was only last week that Pan was watching Tiger Woods sweep to victory at The Masters on TV whilst dreaming of competing himself, and now that dream is a reality after a tense one-shot victory at the stunning Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina. Some of that tension was released thanks to a Sunday back-nine blow-up from Masters runner-up and overnight leader Dustin Johnson. The American played holes 11 to 15 in seven-over-par, ending any chance of victory and further cementing himself as the world number one. Pan sank a nine-foot birdie on the 16th to take the outright lead and held his nerve to claim his maiden PGA Tour title by one shot from Matt Kuchar. See you at The Masters, Pan! Quiz time A tricky one this week. C.T Pan is only the second player ever from Chinese Taipei to win a PGA Tour event. Who was the other? For a couple of bonus points, can you name the tournament and year? It's hard, so feel free to use Google! Click here to let us know your answer. |
It's one of the most glorious times of the year to be playing golf and no doubt you have noticed that more and more players are taking to the course. So, what better time than now for a quick brush up of your knowledge to make sure you don't fall foul of the updated Rules of Golf? |
Here are some of the key rules that were updated for 2019: - Drop the ball from knee height NOT shoulder height
- If you accidently move your ball while searching for it you can replace it with no penalty
- In bunkers, you can now move loose impediments
- Shoe damage on the greens can now be repaired
- Search time reduced from five minutes to three
- You can now putt with the flag in without penalty
Come and talk to us in the shop before you head out for your next round if you have any questions about the updated rules for 2019.
