Devon PGA Ladies Pro-Am
Last Tuesday I ventured across the Tamar and headed to Exeter Golf & Country Club for the Devon PGA Ladies Pro Am, my team of Jo Munday, Rachael Curnow and Jenny Storey had a great day, where we finished in 12th place out of 37 teams, but sadly only the top 10 teams received prizes. Sadly my game wasn't up to scratch on the day, but we certainly all enjoyed ourselves. |

Golf Course Etiquette While out having a look around the golf course the other day, I came across this in the bunker up the first hole in the middle of the fairway. Nice to see that someone has walked over the rake to play their shot and not bothered about raking the bunker afterwards, please look after your golf course, it’s for the benefit of everyone and NOT just for the ground staff to rake them. |

USPGA Sweepstake
All the tickets have now been sold and a couple of draw sheets are in the bar for you to see who you’ve got, enjoy the next four days and let’s see if Tiger can add to his Masters win earlier in the year, but also to his grand total of 15 Major Championships, now only three behind the great Jack Nicklaus.

Cobra Demo Fitting Event
Just over a week ago, we held a Cobra Fitting Event and my thanks go to Jack Venn who provided a first class service to those members who popped along to try out the new models from Cobra this year. These included the new F9 Speedback Irons and Woods, which are being used by Tour Players Bryson DeChambeau & Rickie Fowler. Here we have Gordon Kelly having his personalized fitting with Jack, a day or two later, Gordon picked up his brand new set of Cobra F9 Speedback Irons, fitted with the Arcos units to tell him how far each club goes, this info is then downloaded to his mobile phone while he plays. Just to prove fitting does work, rather than just choosing a standard set off the shelf, Gordon went onto win the Seniors Knuckey Trophy on 8th May, only 2 days after collecting his clubs. John Rose Memorial Trophy
Saturday week ago, the Gents Section held the John Rose Memorial Trophy and it was a fantastic win for Mike Elliott with 43 points. What even made it more amazing was that Mike had a Driver Lesson with myself only 2 hours prior to his tee time. So it’s a bit like Custom Fitted Golf Clubs, Lessons do work as well. So if you are struggling don’t hesitate to come and book a lesson.

Battershill Salver Qualifier
Last Saturday it was the turn of the Battershill Salver Qualifier, where the top 16 players progress to a Match Play event, this was won by junior member, Archie Fox, who is seeded number 1 and will play number 16 seed, Bob Pine. The full draw is now up in the Gents Locker Room. |
